I haven't cooked in months -- first, I was getting ready to move so once I used up all my spices and stuff I was just living off salads and prepared foods from supermarkets & convenience stores (which wasn't a bad thing! Japan supermarket/conbini food is on another level). And after relocating, I was super busy, and frankly, not cooking saves a whole lot of time, especially when your day job happens outside of your house.

But I've built up a little pantry of my usual go-tos and I'm starting to think about what will be the first thing I cook at my new place. I'm thinking gulyásleves, though parsnips are gonna be hard to source. I have tried using daikon and burdock root as subs before, but while the result is still tasty, the flavour is Not Quite Right. 🤔
